Hi. My husband will be coming to Auckland with a temporary visa under my work visa. Anybody knows if he needs PDOS and does he need to register in OWWA? He doesn't have any employer yet, so how will he go through POEA. Thanks

Ang temporary visa ba niya ay work visa din? Will he depart from the Philippines? If yes and yes, I think he needs to register with POEA and get an OEC. You can call both offices POEA and CFO to clarify. I moved your post in this thread, msma.

Wag kang ma shock if pagdating niyo madaming tao, kasi madami talaga, pero mostly for US PDOS yun... :) Enjoy!

Paano kung may connecting flight ka to SG to Auckland hahanapan pa ba kami ng PDOS kung PR din kami sa SG?
I personally don't like to participate on this PDOS thing. I feel it's a waste of time and wala naman difference ito sa mga mag mimigrate and another source ng corruption naman.
Before naka pag PDOS na ako 2006 before going to SG and nag bayad ka para makipag kwentuhan nga 2-3 hours at alukan ng BPI na bank account yun lang.
Kaya parang naiinis ako na kailangan pa nito when leaving from Pinas.

Hi mbuenaflor23, PDOS is for Philippines only, I doubt SG is even aware of it or care about it so don't bother sa SG. I'm not sure kung nagbago na since 2006 ang PDOS but nung nag attend naman ako ng PDOS, back in 2012, I thought it was really helpful lalo kung hindi ka pa nakapunta sa NZ before. They gave really good tips and assistance, at least yung nag facilitate samen nun was very helpful at sincere sa assistance na inooffer niya and nag accomodate pa ng mga questions right after the session. Hindi rin naman kita masisisi if you feel that way about government requirements like this but apart from it I think they also put your record in their file para sa statistics ng Pinoy Migrants na nag paregister. Gaya ng mga napagusapan na namin dito, it's better to just attend it than risk na ma offload sa airport pag hinanapan ka at wala kang maipakita. I mean madami naman tayong hindi agree sa gobyerno but if it's the law we have to abide by it if we want to be a good citizen. Anonimoose

I agree with Ano ni Moose. I mean at least hindi nangungurakot di ba? Meron din sila pinamimigay na booklets na may mga contacts ng mga Pinoy businesses/agencies/etc dito sa NZ (mga remittance centre, balikbayan boxes, Philippine Embassy, etc.) But it is still up to you kung mag aattend ka ng PDOS or hindi.

Hayaan nyo na, gawin nyo na lang. Anyway maybe it's the last time nyo ng gagawin ang ganyang sistema. At pagdating sa NZ eh lahat hassle free na, 5 to 10 minutes transaction na lang kahit anong gawin mo plus you can do it online, (driving licence, bank, etc) Stay positive.

Kaya parang naiinis ako na kailangan pa nito when leaving from Pinas. just to correct you, mbuenaflor23, iba po ung PDOS na inattendan mo before pa SG (which I attended, too, in 2001). parang general guidelines lang yun. where as ung PDOS for NZ at AU na magkasama sa isang session ibang iba at helpful talaga ung information lalo't bago tayo sa mga bansang ito. I initially thought it was just a waste of time and money but believe me, may sense ito at maaappreciate nyo din pag naka-attend kayo. very professional din ung nag-talk and there is a feedback form after the session para dun sa speaker. at hindi din sya gaya nung sa POEA or sa manila dati na ang daming tao, iilan lang sa isang session (sa NZ nga mas maunti compared sa AU). hindi naman kasi tayo ordinaryong OFWs na pupunta. mostly ay migrants/immigrants na kaya hiwalay sya sa PDOS pang OFW. mandatory na po ang PDOS para sa mga lalabas ng pinas. record/statistics din kasi ito ng mga pinoy migrants. they will ask for your contacts dito sa NZ at kung may changes pede mo sila iinform. in case ng emergencies (like war, etc), may record sila ng details natin dito na binabato din nila sa consulate natin dito. kung hindi po umattend ng PDOS at ang exit ay from pinas, pede po kayong hindi papasukin sa immigration. pero kung PR pa naman kayo ng SG, I think ok lang kahit hindi umattend pero pede pa din maquestion kasi may visa stamp na kayo sa passport malalaman nila na migrant kayo. HTH

mbuenaflor23, yeah I understand na hassle talaga na umatend pa ng PDOS but tulad ng mga payo ng mga migrants dito, I suggest too na umatend kayo. Dumaan din ako ng PDOS, the fact na need siya for migrant records, helpful din siya lalo na sa mga first timer ng NZ, though may mga info na ako from forums like ito at mga friends na andito na, meron pa ren akong napulot na important infos. It's just 1 day of hassle with great result in the long run... it will make your travel hassle-free! mas ok na mahassle kayo sa pag attend ng PDOS kaysa ma hassle kayo sa immigration etc. Yeah, but this is just our opinion.

Nakita ko ito sa kabilang forum. :) This might shed some light sa mga nagtatanong what if nakakuha ka ng PR dito na sa NZ. magpPDOS pa ba? see answer below: :D Who are allowed to register at the CFO-NAIA Desk Office?
The following Filipino emigrants may be allowed to register with the CFO-NAIA Desk Office: * Filipino spouses and other partners previously granted permanent residence status in the country of destination * Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals who have completed the pre-departure counseling requirements, as evidenced by a genuine counseling certificate * Filipino emigrants exempted from attending the PDOS or peer counseling under special circumstances * Filipino emigrants with permanent residence visa issued abroad who will be exiting from the Philippines* Emigrants whose visas will expire within three (3) working days of their issuance * Other emigrants under meritorious circumstances, as may be approved by the Executive Director or the duly authorized representative Source: cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1301:registration-and-pre-departure-services&catid=110:frequently-asked-questions&Itemid=858

Hi everyone, Magtatanong lang po kasi sa probinsiya namin walang CFO office We will be going to Manila to do other transaction processing and after reading this thread, I realized that important din pala to attend the PDOS. Balak ko sanang magpass nalang nito hehehe... But anyways, tanong po meron bang option to preregister for PDOS? We will be arriving Manila on a Tuesday morning so tamang tama yun schedule nila na Tuesday 2-4. Kaya po ba, arrive in Manila and attend PDOS all in one day or do we need to extend our stay until Friday for the next session? Thanks!
