Thank you Lord!

Hi, I had history of PTB 5 years ago but treated and with certificate but upon applying for visitor visa, the NZ assessor instructed me to have a sputum culture for 6-8 weeks.
I called the embassy and someone from the phone told me na i need to have my culture done. When i asked her if pwede ba kahit saan magpa culture ans she said yes. Now im confused kasi when I contacted hospitals in my city, sabi nila 5 days max lang ung culture nila. But my instruction was 6-8 weeks. Mejo mataray ung nasa phone sa embassy (not my IO cos shes on leave daw) and parang ayaw magbigay ng detailed instruction kaya di na lang ako nagtanong further.
Ask lang po sa mga nka experience or may kilala who had the same concern as I did,
2. given 6-8 weeks dapat, valid na ba ung 6 weeks? because I have a school schedule to catch and it will provide me 2 more weeks to wait for the processing of the health assessor 3. if found negative, considered ok na ba un or meron pang treatment? 4. if found positive, what will happen to my application?
I hope someone can shed light sa concerns ko as I do not want to waste time kasi I just moved my schedules sa school enrolment just to accommodate the timeframe for all of these medical issues to be settled.
My enrolment will be late in October and I roughly have 16 weeks from today to settle my medical before my enrolment sa school. Enough na po kaya yun?
Thank you po. Any information you would provide will certainly help. God bless.

Hi planespotter , I underwent sputum test and sputum culture sa St. Lukes Ermita. You need to give them your sputum every morning for three consecutive days. Then after 3 days, they will check kung meron kang PTB. If negative naman, they will do a culture test for 6-8 weeks, after that if everything is negative, they will do a repeat chest X-ray.

But as of now, wala pa akong schedule kasi I need the referral letter pa daw and yung e-medical results need din daw nila. Maybe next week if ok na lahat.
How did your culture turn out? need ba talaga 8 weeks or pwede na ung 6 weeks? thanks

Hi planespotter , if e-medical ka since start ng application mo sa NZ, then you just have to give them your NZER reference number para macheck nila sa e-medical server yung mga required medical test. You can call lang to book a schedule for your sputum test, mas ok kapag Monday kasi 3 consecutive days ka magpapabalik balik to give them your sputum sample. Yes mininmum of 8 weeks talaga yung culture test.

Hello! May tanong lang po sana ako. nabasa ko po na kapag may past ptb history eh most likely nag uundergo ng sputum smear and culture. Tapos at the end of the culture ay may repeat xray. Or right after po ng medical test agad?

Hi, I just want to share my experiece about this topic and hope this experience will help someone. I was applying for a Resident Visa under SMC but the NZ medical assessor found something in my x-ray. They recomend me to see a chest specialist. I went through sputum exam, sputum culture, more xray and skin test. The specialist concluded that I had a unreactive TB, since all my sputum exam came out negative and only the skin test turn out that by body is fighter TB bacteria. So the doctor told me they cannot give me the medical clearance that the NZ assessor is requiring unless I went through and complete my TB medication for 6 months. It was sad because my CO just gave us 30 days to provide the Medical clearance. So went back to my CO and email to her about what the chest specialist told me, i attached the doctors findings, lab test and recomendations. To cut the story short, our CO extended my due date until 6 months. After complying all the requirments, including the medical clearence from the doctor after 6 months of medication, the NZ assissor required another sputum culture 30 days after the Completion of my medication. I just comply all thier requirements. And thanks God finally my JVS came out 2 weeks ago. My application was extended for about 8 months after our interview. It was kind of a struggle but I made it!

Hello, I'm on WHV batch 2019 and had a lung scar on my Xray result, I have no history of TB or any chest related disease. I havent received any advise yet from CO but as per my research, most likely I will have to undergo sputum test. If incase I was cleared already here in PH, pagdating ng NZ do I need to undergo another Xray exam since 6 months lang validity ng Xray?

garter26 x-ray will be valid in INZ system for three years.... not 6 months. 6 months kapag hindi mo inialis yung WHV mo within 6 months of approval AND if you will have to apply for another visa...

in case cleared na sa Xray after Sputum and culture test then God's willing visa granted, if I plan to take full medical exam (excluding Xray) here in PH since I'm done with Xray, uulitin ba ulit Xray or no need since done na ako with the procedure?

Pwde ka nman mag pa initila test and magpaconditioning/work up sa kahit sinong specialist.
