I am not sure if this is the right place to put this post I found the latest version of the H Handbook for Filipinos Overseas. Ang dati ko na download was version 7 and may version 8 pala. I am not sure if there is a more recent version This was prepared by CFO and has important information on - rights and privileges as dual citizen, permanent resident, former Filipino citizen - free pala travel tax kapag PR ka and ang stay sa Pinas ay less than one year - definition of balikbayan and duty free privileges etc - income tax returns - when needed magfile - land ownership if you are no longer Filipino citizen but a former filipino natural born citizen etc - even if you are no longer a citizen, ano pwede mo invest sa Pinas etc Good to know these things rin.

Fact - policies on who needs to take PDOS are confusing. Fact - one will eventually need to take this or register with CFO anyway when you eventually have an RV or PRV and go home for vacay I think best is to visit CFO and try to register and get PDOS. 400 pesos and time lang need mo. Get it over with na when you can or you have the risk pa na hanapan ka sa airport. Sayang tickets etc planning. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Share ko lng po.
So andito kami sa Pinas & we have our "Work Visa" WTR na. Ang aga pa naman namin sa POEA. Bakit kasabi sabi sa amin we have to go to the 2nd floor at kakausapin kami ng atty doon. So heto pumunta kami 2nd floor leaving our "line" yung pila namin. Heto na naman sabi ng guard doon we have to make a handwritten statement how we got to have our visa & who is our employer etc. tapos daw we will just be informed kelan kami kausapin nung atty dahil dami daw kausap.
Anong bagong policy ito? Accredited employer po namin sa POEA we are legit.
Walang sinabi yung guard when basta tatawagan na lang daw...hays!

Tapos na kami with our PDOS! This thread made the process very smooth for us kaya thank you sa lahat ng contributors. Medyo madami tao kanina kasi walang pasok this Thursday. Madaming information ang aware na kami dahil sa pinoykiwi and other sites pero it was still informative lalo na sa mga topics na hindi namin naisip before like sponsorship and services ng embasy. Meron palang registration for overseas voters kanina which was a nice thing to see. Government services here still have a long way to go but little improvements like this at least they are moving in the right direction.

Thank you for that update belmont. I was thinking of creating a new thread for that. Sige gawin nating project yan. LOL. First time natin makarinig ng ganyan na kinausap pa ni attorney for WTR. Thanks for sharing this. Parang nakaka-stress lalo yung "tatawagan." Kelan ang target date ninyo ng alis? Naka-book na ba kayo?

aBiSh @admin we have already informed our accredited employer thru email that we have our WTR Visa so sabi namin asa POEA na kami para ayusin na nila ticket namin tapos ganitong bago na policy nangyari na dapat ka interview ng atty sa name hire bago ka maka proceed sa documents sa window ng skilled professionals. Dami talaga nainis sa ganitong bagong policy. Now my wife who is the primary made a written story paano siya na hire directly tapos iniwan nya contact number niya tatawagan na lang daw dahil busy si atty.
Ano yun? directly hired tapos ikaw pa magbabayad ng expenses mo at kukuha ng agency para lang makapasa? kami since directly hired we do not spend sa lahat ng processing it is all shouldered by the accredited employer.
I pray & hope all goes well next week kapag tinawag kami for our schedule kay poea atty. By the way sabi nung poea oic admin hans cacdac bawal daw at illegal ayon sa labor code ang isang "direct hiring".

aBiSh @admin belmont ModM thank you guys you all read my mind. If it fails next week kay poea atty. At kapag in-advice niya kami to get a philippine recruiting agency na recognised nila we will instead get all our legal documents and will proceed sa CFO. Pero for now let us see as i also consulted my legal atty regarding their so called poea labor code - that supposed to be a law protecting me and not the opposite di ba?

Keep it up po, mabuhay po kayo.

Tawid lang kayo sa otherside, there was a jip na nasakyan kami which goes thru JP Rizal in makati. Puedeng dun na kayo magtaxi. Medyo nahirapan kasi kami makasakay ng taxi pauwi.

Thanks for the tip belmont, medyo mahirap nga mag commute from CFO, hindi ganon ka accessible unless may car ka na mag ddrop off sayo and pick up after the seminar. This is another option for our kababayans. Ano ni Moose

style ko nun belmont was to ask isa sa mga sikad drivers to get me a taxi -- sabihin sa driver plus 100php.

Hello! Nakapag attend narin kami ng PDOS last tuesday mga 5 blocks away lang pala samin yung cfo and dun pala kami around that area naglalaro ng habulan nung hs ako (hehe, kakatuwa lang). Anyway, share ko lang po... very informative ngarin talaga yung seminar lalo na nakitang may dala kaming baby so dinetalye ng officer yung mga bawal dalhin. Like dapat pala kung magdadala ng vitamins/medicines ni baby, naka seal pa & as much as possible, dalhin ang receipt & prescription.

felipe there are two different PDOS - one given by CFO for migrants and one by POEA for OFWs. Yung PDOS is different per country. So kahit pa nag PDOS ka na for SG need mo pa din for NZ. But if may NZ ka na and you move to AU no need na kasi isang PDOS lang sila. At least for the CFO one. Re OWWA hindi ako hiningan noong nagpunta ako dito on work visa. Open work visa ako. No specific employer or position. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

felipe sorry my previous post was unclear. Yung CFO PDOS for residents. Although minsan they allow work visa holders to get PDOS. Hindi consistent ang policy implementation nila. I was not allowed to get PDOS nung work visa pa lang ako although yung iba nagPDOS. Nag PDOS ako nung resident na ako Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Hi Folks, Just wanted to share an info we got from PDOS when we attended it during our vacation in PH this month. The officer noticed that we have already been in New Zealand so he asked how long have stayed there. Which we replied only a few months at this point. But my hubby took the opportunity to ask (since this thing is very unclear) if there is any difference if we have stayed in NZ longer. The officer said, if you have stayed in NZ for 2 years already then you would ONLY NEED to register at PDOS but you DO NOT need to attend the seminar that is done in the afternoon. This means you only need to come to submit your documents and pay the fees so they can put a stamp in your passport (they really wouldn't waste a chance to get some of our hard earned money I guess ) But to be frank, this so called requirement wasn't checked in the airport and we were not asked anything about it as well. :S

Hindi rin chineck yung CFO sticker ko sa immigration natin when I left PH BUT I am guessing na possible rin na nakanote na ito sa records mo pagkascan sa passport dahil biometric/e- na passports natin.
