Ang Quiet na ng Forum naten. Sino kaya mga kabatch ko na mag full pledge Kiwi na this year.
I read from other forums the usual 4-5 months processing ng Citizenship sa DIA naging 7-10 months na (Anu kaya hold up) and then another few more months to book and have the oath taking. This is my timeline and would appreciate your inputs and comments kung tama ba ung math ko and understanding ko sa Citizenship eligibility.
Nakuha namin residency visa namin last 20 Dec 2016 we are now on our permanent residency visa. Our travel outside NZ history is 10 days between Feb & March 2017 and 15 days between Oct & Nov 2019 for a total of 25 days.
Ang understanding ko sa rules of 1,350 days in the 5 years preceding the citizenship application and 240 days in each of those 5 years is I'll just add 1,350 days and 25 days (Being Outside NZ) from 20 Dec 2016 which gives me a date of 25 Sept 2020.
Now on my 5th year from 20 Dec 2020 I'll just add 240 days which gives me a date of 17 Aug 2021. I'm wondering kung tama ba ung computation ko na 18 Aug 2021 to lodge our citizenship?
Thank you in advance for your inputs.

divhonWow congrats in advance… malapit na pala! Pabalik ang counting from the time na mag-apply ka… and not counting 5 years/4 yrs 8 mos from when your RV was approved. Yung date na 17 Aug 2021 is exactly 4 years and 240 days from 20 Dec 2016. If based sa eligibility by 17 Aug 2021 ganito: Period 1: 18 August 2016 to 17 August 2017 - 230 days Period 2: 18 August 2017 to 17 August 2018 - 365 days Period 3: 18 August 2018 to 17 August 2019 - 365 days Period 4: 18 August 2019 to 17 August 2020 - 341 days (leap year) Period 5: 18 August 2020 to 17 August 2021 - 365 days Total: 1,666 days in total It was crucial na hindi mag-travel sa first 8 months of residency para sa pinakamaagang possible na pag-apply ng citizenship. Crucial din yung 8 months from 4th year… You have to calculate it na dapat maging 240 days sa unang period

Ang sakit sa ulo hindi ko pa rin magets, Though nakuha ko na just now ung need pala to count back. I'm being eaten by my obsession to not spare an extra day para makaaply na agad ng NZ passport I guess. I really appreciate allune you doing the calculations. How about this. Period 1: 28 August 2016 to 27 August 2017 - from 20 Dec 2016 start date 250 days meet Period 2: 28 August 2017 to 27 August 2018 - 365 days 240 days meet Period 3: 28 August 2018 to 27 August 2019 - 365 days 240 days meet Period 4: 28 August 2019 to 27 August 2020 - 341 days (leap year) 255 days meet Period 5: 28 August 2020 to 27 August 2021 - 365 days 240th day on the 5th year. so now eligible? Kung mali pa rin itong analogy ko tatapatin na kita allune , when do you think is my right date to apply?

I'll probably go with the 27th Aug, gamitin ko na lang cguro ung gov't email ko baka mas forgiving and mabait sagot, gaya ng ginawa ko sa INZ, I felt napaka galang and quicker ung reply, hehehe.
Kung ayaw, alam ko ibabalik lang nman application and fee unlike EOI.

allune it's just a matter of mind conditioning pa my wife, aayaw ayaw pa pero nag pa AHPRA nman. Would rather face the manageable risks of covid than the slow death of paying a moist, leaky, 1900s era, under insulated, and dilapidated house here in Ghettorua for $800K beyond retirement. My ultimate dream is to step back again in the US & circumnavigate EU + CA for sight seeing in my 50s (earlier the better) and its only possible if the mortgage is sorted. Sobrang disappointed lang ako sa 7-12 months processing ng DIA + ilang months na nman to secure slot for oath taking + delay na nman sa application ng passport. I think this is a delaying tactic ng gobyerno to mitigate brain drain.

divhon congrats on your approval for NZ citizenship! Hopefully may oath taking date na soon Yup next week, pero sa Auckland. Wala pa dito sa Rotorua baka next year na un, eh uuwi kami sa January. Gusto ko mapakita sa tatay ko at sa mga nagpautang saken 8 years ago na we made it and I brought home the ultimate trophy ang itim na pasaporte. So nakiusap ako sa DIA na baka pwde ako isama sa next cohort with-in BOP, Waikato, Auckland region, nahiya cguro ginamit ko na kasi ministerial work email ko. Same euphoric feeling nung naaprove ung RV, parang wala lang kasi ung feeling 1-4 years after ng RV.
