wimbee23 did you try calling the immigration? Baka they need more time din sa inyo since 5 kayo. Until now wala pa final decision sa akin. Mag 4 months na ang hintay ko. Good Luck sa application nyo.

wimbee23 - its still waiting for final decision. Iba2x kasi situation natin. Try calling the immigration. Pwede naman kasi walang problema yung application nyo, so hindi kailangan ng case officer kumuntak sayo. Hirap talaga makapasok sa line nila. Halos ubos ang load ko. hehehe Baka next week meron na yan update. Balita ka if meron

Hi guys,
Figured I'd offer some insight here, especially since the recent comments have been about GVVs with a NZ-based partner.
Basically, INZ has massive backlogs at the moment as a result of organizational change. They've closed down a bunch of branches and the ones left aren't adequately staffed, or as experienced in handling the type of applications they are getting now.
In spite of the backlogs, I don't think INZ is in shambles. They still turn out timely decisions (GVVs, or otherwise). The last GVV I processed was done within a week while the partnership-based visa I processed most recently was approved in 5 days. As an LIA, my experience has been that INZ responds to queries in a matter of hours.
I'd say that the key to getting quick decisions is making sure the applications are what INZ describes as "decision-ready". Can't really say what exactly what makes an application decision-ready since this is basically the secret sauce of my business haha. But, I do think providing evidence of relationship (for those traveling to visit family) is a step in the right direction. Bona fides are about proving that you are genuine in your intent and there are several facets to that assessment. If the purpose of travel is to spend time with your partner (or a relative), establishing that relationship is essential.
Good luck with those applications guys! Hope you get those decisions soon.

Hi guys, I think it would be useful if we add our timelines and type of Visit Visa, if sponsored, not sponsored, reason for traveling etc, so we can discuss and compare notes. There was a thread on this previously but with the recent cleanup, tama nga na outdated na yung info na iba and may not reflect the current issues ngayon with Visit Visas. To start, here are the details of my Visit Visa Application:
Lodged Application: October 6, 2019
Type of VISIT VISA: General Visit Visa
Sponsored (If yes, by whom?): No
Duration requested: 6 weeks
Reason stated for traveling: Spend birthday and Christmas with partner
Status: No CO assigned yet
Additional notes: This is my 2nd visa application, 1st one took 4 days for a CO to ask for additional documents and all in all took 14 working days. This time its been 16 days, called twice sa immigration and until now wala parin naka assign na CO. Apparently visas lodged in the Philippines are being routed to Beijing. The agent I talked to said it would take approx 20 days to be processed so will cross my fingers for a result since 4 days left nalang.
We didn't apply for partnership visa and di rin ako nagpa sponsor since I've heard it takes longer and I didn't want any delays. I honestly just want to be with my partner for the holidays then uwi din sa Pinas to spend New Year with my family naman and may work din ako dito of course.
Yes, we do plan to file for partnership visa eventually pero next year pa balak. Wish ko lang ma grant na yung GVV this month kasi pataas na ng pataas ticket prices hahaha.
