Hi pogee, Postgraduate Diplomas in Professional Accounting at Level 8 are only offered at universities so they can be quite expensive. Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting might be a good alternative for you. Tuition fee is closer to around NZ$20k. After 1 year of study outside of Auckland, may 2 year post-study work visa. More than enough time for you to find skilled employment. May client ako before na Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting. Didn't have difficulty finding a job after the course at nakaapply din ng residence.

Hello po sa lahat. Im planning po to choose student pathway for new zealand. Ang school ko po ay Aspire2 International level 7 graduate diploma in IT and meron sila Aucland and Christchurch campus.I understand na npa ka risk po ng student visa kasi wlang guarantee na mkakuha ng work. Questions lang po before I pay the tuition.
1) Ok po ba yng school na Aspire2 International?
2) Saan po ba adisable na place for study, cost of living and finding work for IT, Auckland or christchurch?
3) If let say po graduate kna, uuwi ka pa ba ng pilipinas to apply for opem working visa?kasi po ang sabi mg agency 1 year student level 7 graduate diploma in IT with 1 year open working visa.
4) I believe po na ang IT course nasa long term shortage skill list po ng NZ immigration, malaking po ba chance na mkahanap ng work and resident sa NZ?
5) how much po ba if room lng yng e rent mo for if nasa auckland ka and sa christchurch?
Thank you po sa lahat

Hi daxiebrown, I gotta agree with archangel that it'd be wise to observe the situation as it evolves. No harm in doing your research in the meantime though. I'm a licensed adviser based in Metro Manila and would be happy to answer your questions. I've had clients go to Aspire2 with good outcomes (ie skilled employment related to their study, residence). Programmes are reasonably priced and class sizes aren't overwhelming. Cost of living is lower in Christchurch. If you're granted a post-study work visa, it isn't restricted to a location so you could opt to move to AKL if you prefer to move. You can apply for this while in NZ so you're not required to return to the Philippines after graduation to extend your stay. Chch has a clear advantage however. If you take a Graduate Diploma outside of AKL and it's completed by 31 Dec 2021, the post study visa you're eligible for is 2 years. If you study in AKL, it's just a 1 year you get. You should know that Graduate Diplomas in IT are not on the LTSSL. The qualifications required by the list basically are bachelor degrees. This just means that you won't qualify for any immigration instructions linked to the LTSSL. Nonetheless, you could still find work in the industry. My clients who've taken Graduate Diplomas in IT have moved on to good employment. To know more about your visa options, we encourage you to sign up for a free initial consultation with us. Just fill out this online form :) bit.ly/freeinitialconsultation Lots of things have changed - borders closed, application processing put on hold, schools closing campuses, etc. I could walk you through it.

Hello po. I'm an incoming PhD student po. Luckily i was granted with a schoalrship (tuition and stipend). My field is water/environmental engineering/science. Balak ko din po sana maghanap ng part-time when I arrive (early next year when the border opens). anyone po who have the same case as mine?

Puntastic Wanderer Congratulations. Saan ka magschooling? Work wise you would be perfect here in Rotorua for environment science. www.scionresearch.com/Otherwise lahat ng council (LGU) have their water research/maintenance department. If you can land a job sa South Island much better as the environment there is just jaw dropping compare sa North. You can satisfy your field or passion and NZ needs more people like you there.

I believe katumbas po ng level 7 qualification and there in NZ. Let me know po if mali ako. Almost 10 years work experience in IT industry. Meron din po akong work experience dyan sa New Zealand sa Wellington for more than 2 years. Year 2016-2019. Pinadala ako ng dati kong company dyan to work with clients face to face. Macoconsider po ba itong as “NZ experience”? Previous visas? Immig Stamps on passport?
Ngayon po I am planning bumalik ng NZ para mag aral ng Level 7 Grad Diploma in IT, pandagdag na rin sa credentials and new learnings and planning to find a job after ng study. Maybe pag nawala wala na itong Covid. Mahirap na po kasi talagang makuha yung SMC dahil sa 160 points at need ng job offer from employer hindi tulad dati na 140 or below.
Eto po pala ang mock assessment ko and points from EOI.
Age: 30 = 30pts Qualifications: Level 7 or 8 = 50pts Work Experience: 10 Years or more = 50pts Work experience in absolute skills shortage: more than 6 years =15 pts NZ work experience atleast 1 yr (if counted yung exp ko) = 10 pts total pts = 155 pts
New Zealand qualification that I studied full-time for in New Zealand = 10pts - paano po makuha itong 10 points para maka abot po ng 160 pataas?Sapat na po ba ang Level 7 Grad Diploma in IT 1 year course?
Maraming salamat po.

Since pinadala ka na pala dati ng company niyo it means top caliber ka sa field mo, malamang pagaagawan ka ng mga kumpanya dito. Have you tried to apply direct? or humingi ng recomendation or employment links sa mga kakilala mo? Para hindi ka na magstudent and you will save yourself millions?

Hello po, my apologies po for not introducing myself. Applying direct sa client was not possible din po kasi merong bond or agreement both parties. And besides yung technology na winorkan ko or yung skills na meron ako is hindi na rin masyadong in-demand compare sa current tech. I will try din po na mang hingi ng reccomendation baka sakali. Reason why na naisip ko yung student is to upskill narin and gain credentials, connections and para ma supplement ko rin yung experience na meron ako. Thanks po for noticing my post.

miraculous sayang pre Oct 2016 is di pa need ng job offer para maging residente... Yung level 7 qualification equivalence, only NZQA can determine that with finality. Anyway, yung extra points for NZ qualification, need nun na post grad degree and grad diploma doesn’t count as post grad. So dapat at least level 8 cert or diploma yun (10 pts for 1 yr study). Your NZ experience should count. Just get a COE from your employer and you will have a record of this employment from IRD as well. You would’ve paid tax here naman no? Saklap 5 pts na lang... do you have a partner? You can get at least 10 pts from a partner if level 7 ang qualifications niya. Have you also tried looking for a job? Having NZ work experience is an advantage. And ang haba ng SMC queue ngayon, 1.5 yrs pa yung backlog—it might be better if andito ka na na naka work visa waiting for SMC...

Hello maraming salamat po sa pag reponse. Malaki po ba ang difference ng level 8 and 7 in terms of studying? Meron po bang advantage ang level 8 over level 7 when it comes to applying for a job in NZ? Hindi rin po ako aiming for any managerial role kung nagkataon. Based sa mga nabasa ko and research level 8 pag aiming for managerial. Regarding po sa tax, it was my prev company here in PH who shouldered all the taxes during my assignment in NZ. Pero meron po akong IRD number. I suppose na naka record din yung tax details doon. Bale po my salary was still in PH nung nag work ako dyan. Haha kidding aside..

Hi miraculous, I'm a licensed adviser and did a quick check of your points. Yung work experience mo din, would need to know more to check kung magqqualify siya for points. To maximize your study, SMC points claims and post-study work visa, I'd recommend you take a postgrad diploma or masters. Yung sa research mo, may nagpop-up na kailangan managerial job ka after mo matapos yung postgrad diploma. Dati, ganyan yung sitwasyon kasi kailangan may job offer sa 2 year post-study work visa. Ngayon, hindi na. Kung gusto mo mag-consult, free naman initial assessment samin :) Fill out ka lang ng form para sa appointment - docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdOmP9UqzAMmSirnjH7Wnz1ZAXfkoQww0UBDb4YuH2ow9gfoQ/viewform

Puntastic Wanderer I'm in civil service. Join Pinoys in NZ so you can find a Filipino flat in Hamilton but don't limit yourself sa mga Pinoys flat providers lang. Trademe.co.nz has job and flat postings so start there Seek.co.nz is also a site to find jobs. Find out how NZ make their CV, magapply ka after masort mo ung flat and schedule mo sa school. You should be able to find a job kung hindi ka nman mapili and samahan mo na rin ng dasal as luck is big (at least on my experience), good tip din is prepare funds for a car para you will not be limited sa location ng job, flat, & school mo. Cguro mga 5000 NZD, you can get away sa 3000 NZD but you need to be lucky. Public transport will consume precious time that could be your rest or study time instead.

Puntastic Wanderer I'm not sure sa bank account kasi baka nagupdate na ng policy 6 years ago need lang eh proof of address. I think now need na ng IRD # which is another story. If you have a Non-pro/Pro PH drivers licence you can drive drive nman agad dito. If you been driving for a while sa pinas you should be alright just make sure you know the nz road code/rules. So my tip now is sort out your accomodation then pagaralan mo nz road codes www.nzta.govt.nz/roadcode/general-road-code/road-code/ best kung my mga idea ka na dito before your arrival.

Hi miraculous, please keep us posted on the progress of your application, Btw, we are from the same university and same age din so I guess same school year lang tayo nag-graduate. Im a CPA by profession and working as a Senior Finance Analyst in PH sa Farming and Feeds industry. Try mo din sa field of your profession baka may ganon kang option.

Puntastic Wanderer meron isang member dito before nakalimutan ko ang PK name niya. She studied two or three years Masters (On NZAID scholarship) dito kasama family niya. After natapos she and family needed to go back home sa Pinas kasi yun ang required sa scholarship. She stayed there for two years back sa dati niyang work sa DENRI.. while there she started paper work para makabalik sila ng NZ.. since she has qualification from here, may points siya then she and hubby gained points re work experience nila while nandito sila.

Hi minggay, I hope things work out with your CPA recognition. I'd be interested to know if a bridging course does exist but am a wee bit concerned that it won't open up visa options that you need for a long term stay.
