Sobrang mahal nga kaya better to ask before investing ng napakalaki.

It all boils down on what you can bring to the table. Diclaimer: This is just my opinion

Lifestyle in Rotorua is laid back. Infectious disease was overhauled from WIT last accepted students was July 2014 pa until now wala pa ulit, kailan ba dating mo meireeann? Weather is reltively cool, pag summer 15-21 degrees, pag winter 5-8 degrees, pag may cold snap neg 3 pa lang ung naexperience ko. Karamihan ng pinoys dito is either ilonggo or cebuano since suki ng GSIC ang WIT.
Since this is a tourist destination mostly ang jobs dito is hospitality based. Housekeeping sa hotel or waitering sa restaurant ang 80% ng jobs ng mga pinoys dito. so Infectious disease malamang nurse ka, last year ang in na job sa nurses is care giver sa care homes.
Hindi ko sinasabing mahirap and I don't want to discourage you pero over supply na ng empleyado sa mga nursing homes dito as of now. Karamihan ng mga dumating dito this July intake eh puro level 8 at bitbit na ung mga asawa nila so 2 ng 2 agad kalaban mo sa paghahanap ng work. Difficulty ng paghahanap ng job is very subjective kahit saang lugar pa yan. May iba swerte may iba hindi swerte. I highly suggest bago ka pumunta dito is have a driver's license ung card na, and magaral ka magdrive kung hidi pa masyado marunong.

hello Divhon! Oct 27 yung next intake, im on the process of gathering required documents. actually nagpunta yung nursing dean ng WIT sa consultancy firm and she was encouraging people to take the Infection control course. my education adviser said that NZ is in need of people who studied and finished the said course. So I chosee it, since I have 7 years experience in general nursing I thought it would be a game changer for me (specialized as they said.)i hope I could get a job once I get there. hope to meet you guys someday!

meireeann that was a good advise by the WIT dean for nursing. I think that globally specialisations in infection control is badly needed especially with outbreaks of ebola, etc. Goodluck!

Hi tobenitz! Dahil wala pang nag-reply mukhang wala pang feedback. Kung IT ang work mo, hindi ba kayo pasok sa SMC? Baka pwede. Check ninyo. Malaki matitipid mo.

About the categories, ang explanation ng fortrust sakin nun dati is yung categories is ranking ng NZ, or NZQA ata, sa trust nila na madedeliver ng school yung program ng maayos, like hindi sila magsasara during the school year etc. Apparently madaming mga private institutions na dito that cater to international students, may iba nagsasara due to some issues, siguro konti students, or di na kaya yung gastos, or some thing or other.
I dont think it matters where you get your diploma, what is important is you get the qualification. However, yung thinking ko kasi nung naghahanap ako ng school is it would probably be better to look for a school who wont suddenly close for some reason or another, or cause you some problems.

To add to the conversation on category ratings, here's a bit more info.
The NZQA has a rating system that covers different tertiary education providers (excluding universities). Following an NZQA assessment, schools are placed in one of four categories. Category 1 is the highest rating and Category 4 is the lowest. The categories are indicative of the level of confidence the NZQA has in the quality of education the school offers. It also considers how the school is doing from an operational perspective.
Are categories important to international students? Yes. They're a good way to gauge if the school you're considering has a good track record. Realistically, you'd only have a choice between category 1 or 2 providers. Essentially, you wouldn't be able to get a student visa with an offer of place from a category 3 or 4 school.
Does that mean I should only pick category 1 institutes? Personally, I have a preference for category 1 schools. They have high standards and they deliver quality education. But, there are some good category 2 providers out there as well. Categories are among one of several factors you should consider in choosing a school.
Does it matter where I go to school? Yes - because it can affect your career plans.
Even when a course is offered by more than one school, it does not mean that the programs are equal. In some cases, a particular school might have a higher credit rating (more units/papers) for the same course compared to a different school.
For those that are interested in pursuing higher studies down the track, some institutes will have pathways available into universities for continuing education (eg postgraduate diploma leading to masters degree).
It's also worth considering that the strength of a school's reputation can affect how you do in the local job market.

Btw, sorry it's been a while since i posted. Medyo nag-iba kasi ako ng course, originally i was just supposed to get Diploma in Business Management L7. But the school i went to had a tie up with a UK University na special honours degree programme. I applied to the UK Uni and na accept naman ako, so yun yung kinuha ko na. May additional na konting fees, but i figure since i will be studying for a year, might as well make the most of it hehe (after much deliberation with my parents hehe). Another thing, i discovered kasi yung professors who teach there all have Masters degree, if not PhD, and pre-approved sila nung UK Uni, plus all our papers will be sent to the UK to be checked as well kaya UK standard yung sinusunod nung programme namin. Mas demanding yung requirements DAW compared dun sa normal diploma courses but i cant say for sure. But at the end of the year, i will be getting both the UK and the L7 Diploma hehe. In case hindi ako palarin in the future dito (knock on wood!!!), at least may bitbit ako na extra pang credentials which i can use elsewhere hehe. Also, they will be opening a Masters degree programme with the same UK University, and the programme im going through now is a pathway to that, kung maisipan ko yun sa future. Legit naman sya na tie up, early this year may pumuntang Director nung sa UK Uni sa school para kumustahin kami. And he invited us to join the graduation ceremonies sa UK campus. If any are interested to ask about this programme, please pm na lang po. I'd be happy to answer to the best of my abilities.

aBiSh @admin dito siya aral pero makukuha niya degree from both Uni here and UK. Visiting professors from UK will tandem teach with some subjects or they will assess your work from UK on some courses. I was in a similar program sa Masters sa Pinas. Tie up with a US university naman yun. nikats good on you for availing that habang bago pa. It is not necessarily offered long lalo if hindi masustain ang quality and hindi mameet ang objectives ng dalawang schools. Often for the offshore school it is an opportunity for them supposedly to attract more students din sana. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Hi
I'm new here, but I think this is important to add on the thread: Kapag balak niyo mag-aral dito, don't go to EDENZ Colleges (Auckland), regardless of what course you take. They have terrible student services.

Just got an email from AIS and the Student Marketing Manager said they DO NOT ACCEPT Certificate of ENglish as Medium of Instruction as an alternative to the requirement of English Proficiency. They require IELTS in academic with overall 6.0 (no band below than 5.5) Anyway, here's a list of discounts we can avail from them: Level 8 = from NZ$21,300 to NZ$15,895 Level 7 = from NZ$19,000 to NZ$15,119 You can check their website for the breakdown of costs! doppleganger21 i understand your post was like around 2years ago but do you think the discount is still applicable this year? Or 1st qtr next year? How did you know about the discount ? Thanks
