allune advertising po field ko pero when i got here i switched to software. yup exactly. Haha. Parang feel ko sayang din kasi if wala akong mapala. So yung stress nag-reflect siya sa full blood count ko. parehong WBC and hemoglobin values ko mataas haha kaya 3x ko inulit pero di parin siya pasado.. thankfully minor discrepancy lang naman. hello charcharbinks magka-batch tayo for WHV. I'm inspired with your story, i'm getting the same feeling, anxiety and excitement. I'll be arriving in NZ on Feb 18. I can't message you about the CV format

WHV Batch 2018 checking in! Short BG: I work in advertising AKA Digital Designer (ATL/BTL, SEO background din) in Singapore for 5 years. March - April - Quit my job in SG, umuwi na sa Pinas, nag-travel, nag-mukmok, everyday self-doubt, anxiety attacks etc. I reached out to about 15 WHV people who dont know me to calm my nerves, at literal tinawagan ko pa un iba sa phone. lol 24 Apr - Arrived in Auckland, got my bank acct and IRD, looked for a flat, nagmukmok ulit, lots of panic attacks, nag H&M and Zara-spree (sa may Sylvia Park ko nakatira lol) para hindi ma-depress. Sent CV to arnd 10 direct employers. there were not enough jobs that exactly matched my experience--a lot of the openings had very specific requirements (exp in UX dev, fashion, pre-press etc) na hindi ako qualified. I had 3 interviews lined up the ff week (recruiter and 2 direct, pero di ko na napuntahan si recruiter): 2 May - Interview with Company A in Britomart! I knew i failed cos the interviewer was so handsome i got flustered lol. Nalaman din nila ung specific restriction ng Philippine WHV (most countries dont have the 3-month rule) 3 May - Phone screen with Company B for a temp job. Sabe ng hiring manager, she worked in SG from 2013-2017 (halos pareho kame😂) and kaka-balik lang nila sa NZ. Was offered a 3 month contract the next day. After finishing reference checks that Friday, I started Tuesday During my temp job, I was invited to 2 interviews. Di ko napuntahan yung isa kasi sa Hamilton, but I ended up with an offer from the other one by first week of August, and on the same week inoffer din sakin yung permanent ng current temp job ko. I honestly didn’t think I’d get this far in my field and not being in IT made me think na uuwi ako sa SG hahahaha (ok lang naman). May problema sa medical exam ko, all 3 of them had slightly elevated values but the last one showed the best results so the doctor just marked all abnormalities insignificant and can be treated w/ a lifestyle change. While waiting for my visa to get approved tumunganga muna ako..shopping shopping. Lol Tip: ayusin ang CV at cover letter kasi dito naka-salalay buhay mo. Magpa-full medical pag inapply nyo yung WHV nyo (3 years validity pag kasama inapply sa WHV, fyi). Sising-sisi kami na di namin ginawa earlier, para pag may problema hindi stalled yung work visa application at ma-correct kagad Naalala ko January 2018 ata nalaman na may Working holiday scheme tayo w/NZ, tas nahanap ko itong WHV stories thread. feels surreal that a couple of months later ako magsshare. Dont hesitate to PM me if may tanong kayo about the process of getting a permanent job. Pays to prepare for the worst and be pleasantly surprised when it works out well. I’d like to say thank you to batch 2017 people: bloodshott for helping me refine my CV last feb.. kundi dahil sayo siguro ngayon tulala parin ako, kengjames for entertaining my questions on Reddit, and @superleanne din for talking to me on FB! ---- Summary: 24 Apr - Arrived in Auckland 08 May - first day of work (3-month temp role related to my work) 1st week Aug - Job offers! 10 Aug - Lodged ESV app. 11 working days ung processing time from the time macomplete ung documents. My application was referred to a medial assessor due to abnormality pala. Hi charcharbinks, read your story! Congratulations! And thank you for sharing. Gusto ko lang po magtanong and if you have opinions please let me know. I am planning to appy for the WHV this 7th Feb 2019, I am currently in Singapore. Been here since Sept 2015. 2 years po ako as a Front Desk Manager sa isang music school and then 1 year na po ako as Embalmer sa 2nd work ko po dito. Medyo nine-nerbyos ako kasi yung work ko ever since patalon talon ng line. Walang permanent. hehe.. Will it be difficult for me to land a permanent job in NZ sakali pong mabigyan po ako ng slot sa WHV? Thank you so much!

Usually kasi yung mandatory, as per legislation. lang binibigay nila which is 20 working days per year. But may ibang companies na nagbibigay ng 5 weeks or additional day/week for every year (or 2 years) of tenure with the company. Yung tanong as to how long, well i would say depende sa field of work mo, leave balance at company policy. In my case kasi, since nasa Finance ako and may month end, 2-3 weeks lang since need namin mag work ng month end.

Hi! Nagpa-plan po sana akong mag apply for WHV next year siguro kaya napadpad ako sa forum na ito. Hehe ask ko lang po sana kung sa tingin nyo po ba, mahirap humanap ng related sa SEO/digital marketing temp work under WHV? Yun po kasi yung field ko ngayon and as much as possible, gusto ko po sana related pa rin sa current field ko yung magiging work ko sa NZ, if ever. Thank you po!

Hello, WHV batch 2017 here Ishare ko lang after long roller coaster ride of emotions, resident na ako dito sa NZ. Share ko lang yung timeline ko. Yung WHV to ESV story ko, few posts back. 11 Dec 2018 - Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted
12 Dec 2018 - Expression of Interest (EOI) selected
19 Dec 2018 - Invitation to Apply (ITA) for residency received from INZ
15 Feb 2019 - Invitation to Apply (ITA) documents lodged 16 Feb 2019 - 10 Sep 2020 - Total silence from INZ. Nothing worth having comes easy! Bahala na si Lord! 11 Sept 2020 - Tumawag ako sa INZ at sabi meron na ako Case officer (CO) 14 Sept 2020 - First and only CO contact (hiningian ako ng IRD statement at payslips) 15 Sept 2020 - Sinubmit ko ung mga hiningi ni CO 18 Sept 2020 - INZ Online Status changed to APPROVED. Hala bakit ang bilis? Tumawag ako INZ to confirm, yes it is APPROVED! 🙂. After very long wait (21 months from EOI lodgement), APPROVED na.

WHV Batch 2019 checking in!
Warning: Very loooong post ahead. 😂
Anyway, nalaman ko na may whv pala around nov 2017, i did my research and prepared all documents before the whv 2018 intake. Sad to say, roughly 5:05 am manila time, puno na ang slots. I didn't bother picking up my documents at PUP that time. Sayang pamasahe. Lol. In short, I just moved on. Lol ulit.
So isang taon lumipas, nag-notify sa outlook ko yung next intake for whv the day before.
So ayun na nga. I just uttered a simple prayer then, "Lord, let Your will be done." 5AM empunto, nag start na ako. I secured a slot at 5:09am. Nakatulala lang ako sa screen ng matagal. Hindi ako makapaniwala. Then, unang meeting namin sa work, sabi ko mag-reresign na ako! Hahaha! Then pinick up ko sa PUP yung diploma and tor ko from last year. Lol
September 2019 - Arrived in NZ dala lang ang documents, 30kgs of gamit, mga less than 50k pesos lang and tapang.
17 - Arrival 18 - Processed IRD; Activated SIM 19-20 - ANZ account opening 20-21 - Seek applications 22 - Temp offer 23 - Accepted offer 25 - Start of temping (Employer 1)
More more ipon kasi plan B ko ang mag student visa if all else fail.
October 19- One month in NZ, received the news, my 23 y/o sister got diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Magastos. Padala up to the last cent. I was devastated. I need to increase my income.
December 19- I walked in sa lahat ng shops na malapit sa bahay namin, handing out cv's for part time job. So besh, I worked 2 jobs for 7 days a week.
January 3, 2020, after my interview in Newmarket, my mum called delivering the bad news. My sister passed away. Nag-walling ako sa kybher pass. Hagulgol sa kalye. Hindi ko alam paano ako nakauwe.
Jan 6-feb 6. Ngayon isa nalang.
Feb 7- NZ re-entry. Asked my retail employer (employer 2) kung susuportahan ba nila visa ko. They said yes. So inasikaso na namin yung documents. Kaso anzsco level 5 sya mga besh and no plans na mag-go through ng winz ang employer. So hindi ko na tinuloy. Then 1st lockdown happened. Pero may subsidy ako buong lockdown, panalo diba. Haha.
April 2020- dahil level 4 lockdown parin, nag walk in ako sa isang pinoy grocery store (employer 3) at nag-apply dahil essential services sila. Mala- asian map na varicose this time 😂
May 2020- tumawag yung Employer 2, asking if gusto ko ulit mag work sa kanila. So nag-offer ng marketing position. So we lodged the visa. Then mabilis na sumagot ang INZ, unlikely to be approved. So nag withdraw instead of having a decline result.
Kaso dumating sa point na ginagastusan na ako ng employer for the seek advertisement and other things. Napagod na si Employer 2. They gave me an ultimatum of 2 weeks. So in short, yung hope ko, parang sigarilyo na literal--nauupos.
Employer 4 came in, giving me a temporary assignment. Naka-first day ako sa kanila then nag level 3 bigla the next day. Haha. So goodbye Employer 4. At the same time na-forfeit yung ultimatum dahil level 3 nga. Walang office or whatsoever.
They sent me the contract then applied esv sept 2.
September 16- Essential Skills Visa approved!
Alam kong work visa palang to pero salamat sa Diyos talaga! Hindi ko siguro kinaya kung wala Siya. ❤️❤️❤️

God has some good plans for you hopefully faithful, masipag at mapagmahal na kiwi para sau. I can't forget that amount lucky Php50K yan lang din dala ko nun 2014 when I arrived for my student visa 1st day binawasan pa agad ng $90 rent ko sa isang backpacker room. I told to myself I won't comeback without my goal, wala na rin babalikan baon sa utang.

Hi guys, WHV Batch 2017 din ako. Share ko lang yung SMC Timeline ko.. 23 July '19 - EOI Submitted 24 July '19 - EOI Selected 25 July '19 - ITA received 26 Aug '19 - Documents Lodged 27 Aug '19 -25 Mar '20 - Kinalimutan yung application dahil sure na hindi pa ma-aallocate sa CO. 26 Mar '20 - Naka-receive ng email from INZ about Temporary Visa 6-months Automatic Extension. Buti na lang din kasi yung work visa ko patapos na nung 12/20. 14 Jul '20 - Work Visa extended via email from INZ. 15 Jul '20 - 17 Jan '21 - Nagche-check na ng mga SMC updates. Naka-receive din ng email from INZ for 6 months visa extension. Happy kasi may give-away na naman. 18 Jan '21 - INZ requesting payslips and IRD 20 Jan '21 - Documents submitted to INZ 21 Jan '21 - 6 May '21 – Dito na nagsimula yung sleepless nights ko. Todo check ng ESV and SMC updates. Bumagal yung CO allocation. Ang nasa website is 15 days kaya medyo na-confuse ng very slight. 7 May '21 - Email received from INZ for Option to withdraw the SMC application. May interview for 5 minutes about my job. Medyo boses lalaki ako nung kausap ko siya kasi may cold and flu ako at that time. Haha. Napakasaya! Later that day, Nag-ask ulit ako kay boss kung may na-receive siyang call from INZ, ang sabi wala daw. So another good news! Kaya napa-smile the whole day at hindi makatulog sa excitement 26 May '21 – Sent my passport to INZ 27 May '21 – INZ received my documents 1 Jun '21 – Received call from INZ confirming my details 8 Jun' 21 – After 21 months, Finally na-receive ko na yung Residence E-visa! Haha Up until now, nagche-check pa rin ng online account at paulit-ulit binabasa yung e-visa kasi nga nakakatulala! Shout out to kawhileonard and allune , thanks guys sa tulong nyo and pag-checheck ng SMC Status ko! Hehe. Eto, Resident na! Whoop whoop!

Hello, ask ko lang po if required talaga yung IELTS para makaapply ng WHV? or may ibang documents po na pwede aside don? Ang mahal din po kasi ng IELTS and sayang lang if di naman po maseselect. Pwede na po ba yung certificate from school na mode of instruction is in english?

I thought of sharing what I posted 2 months ago on my social media account...
-
Yesterday, I finally got the email confirmation that my application for a New Zealand Resident Visa – Skilled Migrant has been approved.
Circa 2015, I came to New Zealand on a working holiday visa hoping to land a long-term job. I am a pragmatic person so the goal was to find an employer who’d be willing to sponsor my long-term work visa because the same work that I’d be doing back home will pay more here.
For 14 months I stayed on and fought the fight to find one employer that would be willing to take a chance on me. But there was no one. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given a chance to prove myself. If you only knew how many times, I had to revise my CV and cover letter and how many applications, I sent during that time. I even applied and got accepted to a local college/university, and good thing the one person I am comfortable borrowing money from couldn’t lend me the amount that I needed.
I thought at that time, if only I am a resident, my fighting chance to land a skilled job will be much higher. If only.
Past forward to 2022, I was offered a skilled work and relocation opportunity back to Aotearoa. The moment I got the job offer, I immediately researched how to get a residence visa because I am not letting the opportunity, I was hoping to get circa 2015/2016, slip away.
One residency pathway is via a skilled migrant route which is points-based, and big points is given to skilled job offer/work. For ~2 months, I tediously prepared all the requirements. I aggressively pursued the residency application because I had been in a disadvantaged position in the past, so I have a better appreciation of its worth.
Six months after I submitted an Expression of Interest, I am now a New Zealand resident.
