Hi! I am also planning on applying for WHV next year. Question, because it's required to have a comprehensive health insurance for one year, would you know saan meron mura? Thank you!

Hi DM, One of the requirements na need mo ipasa is your insurance policy. Mura ata sa Southern Cross or Orbit Protect. Try mo isearch.

Thank you! I just had a quick look at Orbit Protect, mura nga! How about accommodations sa Auckland? Which is more advisable to do, book hostels or find flats? Thank you! sobra daming tanong!

Hi DM, Please don't take this the wrong way..Chineck ko ang account history mo and it looks like 3hrs ago palang naci-create ang profile mo. Alam ko nakakaexcite i-post ang tanong mo that very instant. But most of these questions have been answered several times and we want to avoid redundancy sana kasi ang haba na ng WH thread. Start ka from the start and don't just skim through if you are really interested! Good luck!

phlspyr hmmm wonder why. Though I don't think ganun mga Kiwi. What risks can a WHV holder have? Flight risk? Lipat work agad?

It's probably more on the skills or yung letter na walang local na makukuha. Sabi nung recruiter kasi madami na raw naganyan (siguro declined temporary visa) sa client nila. I don't know exactly pero tingin ko.

ardent, I just got here in the South Island two days ago. Pinanindigan ko na ang Working Holiday! Kahit I am unable to land a long-term job, I can say that I am pretty happy with my North Island experience as a whole naman. Yong experience ko ay hindi matatawaran! Details to follow nalang (sana pagka sinipag ako but not anytime soon) dito sa forum kasi sa FB palang ubos na agad oras ko. I-enjoy ko muna yong experience dahil hanggang Mid-April nalang until my visa expires. Hopefully my South Island stay will be awesome.. Cheers and Merry Christmas, folks!

Check the demand in your industry and SPECIFIC skills (dahil ayaw na nila magtrain ng tao ) kung uubra against NZ qualifications/ experience, employers, and against other nationalities and those with resident visas (madaming rejections but go lang, makukuha rin ). Karamihan ng businesses dito ay local/sme at kaunti ang mnc (dahil di sila economically viable explained by a long time pinoy immigrant 1. Malayo ang NZ 2. Kaunti ang foreign na nagiivest/ nageestablish ng companies *walang zara or uniqlo etc shocking I know* dahil kaunti rin ang population 3. NZ values and protects locally-grown companies so paisa isa ang hiring nila in other words self-sufficient sila pero heavily reliant sa immigrant investments *kaya madaming nationalities ang mga shop at resto* (unlike bpos natin na mass hiring)

Hello guys! Posting here what I shared in Essential Skills Visa thread, as I am a Working Holiday Visa holder batch 2015 and share ko lang ang story ko.
Arrived in NZ on Sept 2 and was able to get a job after a month. My field is Finance/Accounting with 6+ years experience including 3 yrs in SG.
Quick story regarding sa nakuha kong job ngayon. It shows sa Ad nila na application closed on Oct 1, Thursday. Oct 3 na nung nakita ko ang ad and Saturday pa! but without hesitation, nag-send pa din ako. Surprisingly, tinawagan ako ng hiring manager on that day mismo. Saturday! Sabi nya the application is already closed but he finds my CV interesting so he wants to talk to me. Since the office is in Christchurch (South Island) and nasa Huntly (North Island) ako, nagtanong ako if skype is possible for interview. Umokey naman and scheduled agad ang Skype namin at 5pm that day. After 3 rounds of interviews on different days, I got the job! Moved to Christchurch and started work on Oct 12 under probation muna because of the condition on Working Holiday Visa (may not work for the same employer for more than 3 months).
Submitted my application for Essential Skills Visa on Dec 17 and is approved on Jan 14, 2016. Just in time dahil yung 3-month condition sa Working Holiday Visa ko is expired na nung Jan 12. Haayy what a relief. 3 years ang granted na work visa at syempre magsa-submit na ko EOI next month. God's love is too overwhelming, nakakaiyak!
Madaming work available. Ang tricky is makakuha ka ng employer na susupport ka kasi kailangan magpasa ng evidence na no NZ citizens or residents suitably qualified to take the job. Ang ginagawa ko, sa cover email ko twing nag-aapply ako, I say, "I hold a current work visa and can start work immediately." I only need their support. Assured them na hindi sila maaabala.
That's all for now. If you have questions, I am more than willing to help. Thank you guys. And thanks to NZ for opening its arms to us. I was emotional when I saw my work visa is approved. First from securing a slot in Working Holiday Visa, looking for a job upon arriving in NZ, job interviews, rejections, job offer finally, then ang kaba habang naghihintay ng Work Visa. I thank God for placing a dream in my heart and everything I need along the way to make it happen (including this pinoykiwi).
Cheers guys!

Hi, faithfulMapapayo ko lang sayo, be confident sa skills and experience na meron ka. When looking for a job, be sure to let them know na meron kang WHV. Be sure to explain the limitation na 3 months lng pwede per company (if hindi nila alam kung ano yun).
